About PetInsuranceDenied.com

What this site is

PetInsuranceDenied.com is an informational research project for US pet owners whose insurance claims were denied. It covers the top 10 US pet insurance carriers' published appeal procedures, includes a free in-browser appeal-letter generator, and provides a 50-state insurance-commissioner backstop for when the carrier-side appeal fails.

This site is notan insurance company. It is notan insurance broker. It is nota law firm. We do not act as an intermediary in your appeal. No carrier pays us for editorial coverage — we describe their procedures because that information is in the public-domain (carrier policy docs, FAQ pages, state DOI disclosures), and that coverage is the same whether or not we have a referral relationship with the carrier. When we do have a paid referral relationship with a carrier, that is disclosed wherever the affiliate link appears and on every page's footer.

What we publish

  • Per-carrier appeal procedures — appeal channel, window, response timeline, and escalation path for each of the top 10 US pet insurers, sourced from their primary policy and FAQ pages.
  • Denial-reason pillars — eight categorical guides covering pre-existing condition, breed exclusion, waiting period, treatment-vs-prevention, bilateral, behavioral, dental, and hereditary denials.
  • State insurance commissioner directory — the contact and complaint-form information for all 50 US states + DC. We publish only what we have verified against the state's own DOI page.
  • An appeal-letter generator that runs entirely in your browser. No data we collect, no PHI we hold, no marketing follow-up.

Editorial review

The appeal procedures, denial-reason pillars, and state DOI entries are written from primary sources and will be reviewed for procedural accuracy by a licensed insurance attorney once one is retained. No standing reviewer is engaged yet, and attribution is operator-pending — when a reviewer is engaged, their name, bar number, state of admission, and a link to verify license status will appear here. We will not publish a fabricated reviewer.

The reviewer, once retained, will be an insurance attorney, not a veterinarian. This is a procedural insurance niche, not a clinical pet-care site. A DVM-attributed review would be off-target.

Privacy

The Appeal Letter Generator runs entirely in your browser. We never receive your pet's name, diagnosis, vet record filenames, or the policy section the carrier cited. Aggregate counts (which carrier, which denial-reason category) are the only signal we collect — and only with your analytics consent. See the privacy policy or the methodology for the audit trail.

Funding

We earn referral fees when readers sign up for certain third-party programs (alternative pet insurance carriers, vet financing) through our links. We earn nothing from your appeal succeeding — and we recommend the appeal path first.
